Attention all you "Soup-er" Heroes and Brilliant Bakers: Get ready for the Second Annual POVUCC Soup-er Bowl of Caring, coming soon on February 9th, 2025!!!

Due to the huge success of last year's Soup-er Bowl Fundraiser, we are doing it again. This year's fundraiser is even more important as 100% of what we raise will be donated to help our LA neighbors affected by the devastating fires.

How does the fundraiser work? Volunteers sign up to make their prize-winning soups, perfect their recipes and bring their soup to church on the day of the event. Following worship on Feb 9th, we have a soup tasting event in which everyone gets to taste each soup (this is the fun part!) and votes with their dollars for their favorite soups. Winners are announced the following week and awarded a prize.

Why are we doing this? To raise money for our LA neighbors who have been tragically left without homes and belongings due to the recent fires.

What do we need to make this happen? To make this event happen, we need soup makers to make soup, bakers to bake bread, dessert makers to provide sweet treats and other volunteers.

Who wants to play? Join us for an evening of fun and fellowship at Board Game Night on Saturday, January 18, from 5 PM to 8 PM in Fellowship Hall! Pastor Mary Sue will be providing pizza, so please RSVP to her to ensure we have enough for everyone.

We’ll have a selection of games available, but feel free to bring your own favorites to share.

The Annual Congregational Meeting will be held after worship on Sunday, January 26th.

As most of you know, a special congregational meeting was held in December to approve the 2025 budget and elect officers and board members for the upcoming year.

This meeting will celebrate the accomplishments of our 2024 Committees and Boards as we review the past year and honor the growth of our church community.

Copies of the Annual Report will be available in the narthex and online in the upcoming weeks—please take just one printed copy per family. A special Phil's BBQ celebration lunch will be held immediately following the meeting.
