THE LATEST NEWS

  • Join Musical Minister Kate Moody on Saturday, December 14 at 5:00 pm at Pioneer Ocean View UCC for an hour of deep relaxation and inner connection as she leads guided meditation interwoven with music and readings. The topic of this musical meditation is "Release and Renew." As the year draws to a close, we'll practice letting go of a behavioral, emotional, or thinking pattern that isn't working well, and replace it with a more beneficial way of being.

Musical Sanctuary is a contemplative service of music, readings, and guided Connect & Glow meditation, that explores different topics and principles related to spiritual growth and healing. This self-healing technique is suitable for beginning as well as seasoned practitioners.

The program is free; donations are welcomed.

  • Next Sunday, on December 1, the season of Advent begins.  Our theme this year will be “Words for the Beginning,” using materials from A Sanctified Art.  Pastor Mary Sue is leading a weekly Bible study on Zoom, based on the Scriptures for the coming Sunday. We will meet at noon and 7 PM each week on Zoom.

Both sessions are open to all, and we invite you to join whichever time works best for you. All six Partnership churches are using these materials, so you’re welcome to join the Bible studies at our sister churches as well. Contact Pastor Mary Sue for more information. We look forward to sharing this Advent journey together!

  • This year POVUCC will be donating 20 gift baskets for 10 large families (2 baskets each) to the Community Christian Service Agency (CCSA) Christmas Basket program! Each family gift basket will be given to a family in need and include food for a holiday meal and 2 Target or Walmart gift cards that can be used to purchase perishable items. If you would like to participate, please take a tag off the Christmas tree in the narthex, purchase the item(s), and then place the item(s) in the box marked “CCSA Christmas Baskets for Families” in the narthex by Sunday, December 1st and no later than December 8th.

Thank you for your generous help and support!

Please consider joining us for the gift bag assembly after church on December 8th!
