At the beginning of the summer as COVID case rates dropped, we were excited and hopeful that, if case rates continued to decline, we would be able to return to our sanctuary for worship at the end of summer. We tentatively set September 12, Faith Formation Sunday, as the day we would move from Fellowship Hall back to the sanctuary.
The Re-gathering Committee continues to monitor the situation as we have throughout the pandemic. Given the high transmission rate of the Delta variant and the current growing COVID case rate, we will “stay the course” and continue to worship together in Fellowship Hall and on Zoom. We will still observe Faith Formation Sunday together on September 12 and are working to make it a special celebration. While we are disappointed that we cannot return to the sanctuary as planned, we believe this is the right choice to keep everyone safe.
Our updated guidelines for worship are listed in the announcement below. We trust you will make the choice that is right for you, and we look forward to seeing you for worship either in person or on Zoom.
Stay healthy, stay strong, stay hopeful!
