Blessing of the Animals Service

Genesis 1:24-25 reads, “And God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth living creatures of every kind: cattle and creeping things and wild animals of the earth of every kind.’ And it was so. God made the wild animals of the earth of every kind, and the cattle of every kind, and everything that creeps upon the ground of every kind. And God saw that it was good.” On Sunday, September 29th at 9:00am on The Point, POVUCC will host our first Blessing of the Animals service to celebrate God’s gift of living creatures. Well-behaved pets (on leashes or in cages) and their people are welcome to come for a brief time of worship and a pet blessing. Bagels, donuts, and coffee will be served after the short service. Regular worship service will be held at the usual 10am time and will include a blessing for pets unable to attend in-person. We invite you to bring a photo of a pet you’d like blessed to the 10am service. Join us as we thank God for our pets!
