  • CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL

    POVUCC will again be participating in the Japanese Friendship Garden’s Cherry Blossom Festival in Balboa Park on March 9-11 (Fri-Sun). We are making plans for our church food booth, so watch for sign-up sheets posted in the Fellowship Hall to volunteer for this fun event! In the meantime, please Save the Date!

     

    SPECIAL POVUCC HAPPI COATS

    If you will be volunteering to help at the POVUCC food booth during the Cherry Blossom Festival (see information above) and would like a special POVUCC happi coat to wear, please contact Terri Arakawa   to place your order. Cost is $25.


  • All congregation members and friends are invited to attend our February 3rd, Church Visioning Retreat facilitated by Rev. Mary Scifres. During the retreat we will review our goals and priorities plus envision our future. Please RSVP to the church office if you plan to attend. The retreat is from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. 


  • Next Sunday, January 21st, we welcome our Strategic Planning Consultant, Rev. Mary Scifres, to the pulpit. Rev. Scifres is a United Methodist pastor and a national consultant in the areas of church leadership and visioning, worship, and evangelism. Please join us next Sunday for an uplifting and worshipful service.


  • Sunday, January 28, we will hold our Annual Congregational Meeting at 11:00 am immediately following the worship service. We will elect new church officers and board members, approve the budget for 2018, and approvechanges to the Bylaws and the Safe Church Policy. We invite you all to attend. The 2017 Annual Reports will be available next Sunday, January 21 on the table in the Sanctuary entrance.
