    Palm Sunday – 4/14 at 10:00 am at POVUCC *Maundy Thursday – 4/18 at 6:30 pm at POVUCC (with UCCLM & Kensington—a service of Foot washing, Communion and Tenebrae)

    *Good Friday 4/19 at 12:30 pm at UCUC (located at 2877 Governor Dr, 92122) and 4/19 at 7:00 pm UCC La Mesa (located at 5940 Kelton Ave, 91942)

    Easter - 4/21 at 10:00 am at POVUCC


  • Thanks to the efforts of Emily Otsuka, we are privileged to be one of the first audiences to hear I Love a Clean San Diego’s new Zero Waste Program at POV, today, April 7th at 11:30. Please stay for lunch and learn how we can be more green!


  • The archive group is busy planning an exhibit for POV’s 15th Anniversary. Within the next few weeks, please look for and send photos, 2004-present, of POV folks and activities. Digital or other is fine. A few examples of desired moments in our history and community: the merge, Fall Festivals, construction/remodel, open and affirming process, music ministry, worship, prayer ministry, CCSA, Fellowship Hour, community outreach and involvement, and youth. Please send photos, with dates, activity and name(s) by April 14, 2019,


  • The Japanese American Historical Society of San Diego invites you to a film screening, book talk, and panel discussion of Moving Walls: The Barracks of America’s Concentration Camps on Monday, April 29th at 6:30pm at the Neil Morgan Auditorium, San Diego Central Library, 300 Park Blvd., San Diego, CA 92101. Moving Walls is a documentary that tells the story of what happened to the barracks built to house Japanese Americans during WWII in the camp called Heart Mountain. It brings together two tales of struggle and resilience: the confinement of a people based simply on race and the settling of the American West by modern pioneers who chose to build new lives on the frontier.


  • On Saturday, April 6th at 7:00pm, University Christian Church will host an inspiring Progressive Christian Revival featuring the music of the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus and a talk titled "What Have We Done to Jesus?" by Bishop Yvette Flunder. Bishop Flunder is a fabulous gospel singer, the Senior Pastor of the City of Refuge United Church of Christ in Oakland, California, and Presiding Bishop of The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries, an LGBTQ+ multi-denominational group of primarily African American Christian leaders. She is also an active voice for the Religion Council of the Human Rights Campaign. Information and tickets ($20.60) are available at uchristianchurch.org/tickets. Reception to follow.
