Here at POVUCC we are so incredibly grateful for our seniors on whose shoulders we stand. We know that these last 9 months have been incredibly difficult on many of us. We also know that for many of our seniors, the isolation brought on by this pandemic is especially challenging. Without access to internet, it has been harder for some to stay connected and feel a part of community. We have worked hard to find ways to reach out to these beloved folx. Pastor Mary Sue mails her sermon to those who wish for it each week. She and Andy send out pre-recorded messages each week to say hello and remind them of how much we love them. Our Circle of Care Team calls folx each week to check in and see how our friends are doing. During the holiday season, the Elderberries sent Christmas greetings and a group of people came together to print 8x10 photos of our church family from POVUCC's 15th Anniversary Celebration in October of 2021. These photos were framed and delivered with Christmas cards to the people who often don't have other ways of connecting with their church family. We owe our seniors so much gratitude for the many ways they have loved us, loved this community, loved this church family, and worked to help make POVUCC what it is today. With this gratitude in mine, we invite you to send cards, write letters, make phone calls, lift prayers, share your gifts, and find other ways to connect with these members of our beloved family.
