  • Here at POVUCC we are so incredibly grateful for our seniors on whose shoulders we stand. We know that these last 9 months have been incredibly difficult on many of us. We also know that for many of our seniors, the isolation brought on by this pandemic is especially challenging. Without access to internet, it has been harder for some to stay connected and feel a part of community. We have worked hard to find ways to reach out to these beloved folx. Pastor Mary Sue mails her sermon to those who wish for it each week. She and Andy send out pre-recorded messages each week to say hello and remind them of how much we love them. Our Circle of Care Team calls folx each week to check in and see how our friends are doing. During the holiday season, the Elderberries sent Christmas greetings and a group of people came together to print 8x10 photos of our church family from POVUCC's 15th Anniversary Celebration in October of 2021. These photos were framed and delivered with Christmas cards to the people who often don't have other ways of connecting with their church family. We owe our seniors so much gratitude for the many ways they have loved us, loved this community, loved this church family, and worked to help make POVUCC what it is today. With this gratitude in mine, we invite you to send cards, write letters, make phone calls, lift prayers, share your gifts, and find other ways to connect with these members of our beloved family.

  • This is an official notice that 17th Annual Congregation Meeting of POVUCC will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 12:30pm. Due to Covid-19, we cannot conduct the meeting indoors this year. Our alternative is to convene the meeting online via the teleconferencing platform Zoom, which will enable audio and/or visual participation. For those without an internet connection or those not wishing a video connection, the audio-only option will allow you to participate fully in the meeting, but without being able to see other participants (or them to see you). Our goal is to enable full participation for every member.

We ask that you review the enclosed agenda of the items to be addressed at this year’s meeting. Access to this year’s full Annual Report will be available virtually on January 17, 2021 for those with internet access. For those without internet access, please contact the church office at 619-276-4881 to arrange delivery of a hard copy of the report.
