  • Camp Stevens 2024 Family Camp—coming soon!

    Experience Creation at its finest! POVUCC has reserved Wolterstorff Lodge at Camp Stevens for the weekend of April 12-14, 2024. This lodge has four rooms; each room sleeps six, with two bunk beds and two twin beds. Bathrooms are down the hall. You will need to provide your own linens, towels, sleeping bags, pillows, etc. Four delicious meals are included, beginning with breakfast on Saturday morning, through breakfast on Sunday morning. We will share meals, hikes, Vespers, a Bonfire and Sunday morning worship. We have also signed up for archery on Saturday afternoon.

    BOMCE has set aside funds (BOMCE events) to help subsidize the costs for camp as follows:
                * $160/adult, age 18 and older (this includes a $30 subsidy)
                * $75/youth, age 12-17 years old (this includes a $115 subsidy)
                * $75/child, age 2-11 (this includes a $62 subsidy)
    Friday night only, with breakfast and lunch on Saturday, will be $145/person (this includes a $20 subsidy from our church). Saturday only will be $17/person plus $15/person, per meal.  (So Saturday with breakfast and lunch will be $47/person).

     A sign-up sheet is posted in the Narthex, and payments, made to POVUCC, are due Easter Sunday, March

  • On April 21, POVUCC will begin a Visioning Process guided by Jill White, a staff member with the UCC Church Building and Loan Fund (CB&LF). With participation from the WHOLE CONGREGATION (yes, that means YOU!), we will listen together for how God is calling us to be the church now. Please put April 21 on your calendar now and plan to join us for our first session after worship that day. We will have a special lunch from Phil's BBQ, so contact the church office if you would like to join us. Other dates are May 5 and June 16, so add those to your calendar as well!

  • The Partnership for Racial Justice group is sponsoring the upcoming visit to the Museum of US exhibit on Sunday May 5th from 1:30pm-3:30pm. This experience is designed especially for us and will include a guided tour of the exhibit and the playing of a Monopoly game designed to help us think more deeply about issues of equity. This event is limited to 30 people. Due to the nature of the subject matter this event is limited to adults and youth 13 years of age or older.
